What we believe
- We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:21) from Genesis 1:1 until Revelations 22:21. We also believe that this Word is the highest form of authority in our lives (Philippians 2:9-11).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Jesus became the Word in flesh (John 1:14).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ received our punishment, so that we could be forgiven (Isaiah 53:4).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was wounded, so that we could be healed (Isaiah 53:5).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was made equal with our transgressions, so that we could be righteous in His righteousness (Isaiah 53:10, 2 Cor. 5:2).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died our death, so that we could receive His life (Hebrews 2:9).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was made a curse, so that we could receive His blessings (Galatians 3:13,14).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ underwent our poverty, so that we could share in His abundance.
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ carried our shame, so that we could share in His glory (Mathew 27:35,36, Hebrews 12:2, Hebrews 2:9).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ underwent our rejection, so that we could receive that acceptation of Father God (Mathew 27:46-51, Ephesians 1:5-6).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was cut of from God through the dead, so that we could be united with God forever (Isaiah 53:8, 1 Cor 6:17).
- We believe our old man was put to death in the Lord Jesus Christ, so that our new man could come to life in us (Romans 6:6, Col 3:9-10).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead after three days (1 Peter 1:3), that He lives and that He reigns forever (Ex. 15:18)!
- We believe that we are redeemed through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7).
- We believe in the Only and living God, from everlasting to everlasting consisting of three Persons in perfect Unity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the inner transformation of man through the Fall and therefore in need of repentance and regeneration by grace and faith alone (Ephesians 2:8,9) and in the eternal separation from God for those who ultimately remain unconverted.
- We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-33) and in the sinless life of Jesus, the atoning Blood, the victorious resurrection, ascension and in the continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
- We believe in justification and sanctification of the believer before the throne of God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).
- We believe in the institution by Jesus of baptism by immersion in water and the celebration of the Lord's supper.
- We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), and the availability of the gifts of the Holy Spirit for all believers (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12).
- We believe in the baptism in the (spiritual) FIRE of God and that the Lord Jesus Christ is the one who baptizes us in His river of liquid FIRE (Matthew 3:11).
- We believe in the spiritual protection for every believer who stays in Christ.
- We believe in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life and by whose indwelling the fruits of the Spirit are revealed (Galatians 2:20).
- We believe in equipping the church of Jesus Christ through apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers (Ephesians 4:11-12). Responsibility and authority of the local church lies with the pastor and elders of the local congregation (Hebrews 13:7,17).
- We believe in the privilege and responsibility to bring tithes and offerings to the Lord (Malachi 3:10, Hebrews 7).
- We believe in the reality of the body of Christ composed of all born again believers, regardless of their denomination.
- We believe we have the task of making all nations His disciples and to learn them to obey everything the Lord Jesus Christ taught us (Matthew 28:19,20).
- We believe that we have to fight a spiritual battle against the devil and his demons, through the victory of Jesus Christ at Calvary (Ephesians 6:12).
- We believe in the personal and visible comeback of the Lord Jesus Christ and in a eternal fellowship with Him for all born again believers (Mark 13:26, Acts 1:11).
- We believe in the advent of a new heaven and a new earth (Isaiah 65:17 and Revelations 21:1).
