Robin came out of a life of deep rejection, satanism and sexual immorality.
Although he grew up in Church, he never really felt a connection with it and
always resisted against it. In his childhood he never had real friends and until
the age of 15, he was a victim of bullying in every class he was in. Because of
this he spent almost all of his time alone, thinking that everything was his
fault. To him it felt as if nobody cared for him, as if nobody wanted him and as
if his life was a big mistake. Although he was loved by his parents, there were
no people who encouraged him during those years. Although he loved his father
very much, his daddy was away from home most of the time because of his job.
Basically he grew up without a father around.
Since he was alone all the time, he started to fill his time with reading books.
You could find him reading at almost every free minute he had. Despite of this,
his grades at school were dramatic. In all his attempts to be a part of the
group, he thought for a long time that he would earn respect by having low
grades at school. Instead, his fellow students started to bully him even more
and grades were dropping even faster. This was not the only reason, he had also
problems with concentration and short term memory, which was later defined as
ADD. By the time he was 17, and when he didn’t pass his class again, his parents
decided that he had to stop with school and start working, without any diplomas
or certificates. They did this because they believed that he didn’t wanted to
learn. By this time he left the Church and did not want to have anything to do
with God.
At the age of 17 he was still reading a lot, but this time he only read books
about the occult, the supernatural and about satanism. It filled him with hate
and gave him the desire to make all the people who hurt him pay for what they
did. At one point he even surrendered his life to satan in exchange for as much
sex as he wanted and for the job he wanted. Two years went by and satans plan to
destroy Robin’s life became more intense with every step. At the age of 19 Robin
was sitting all alone in his room, filled with anger, hate, loneliness, sadness,
depression and thoughts of suicide. That night he decided that he would do it.
He would end his life. It was at that night that God stepped in and prevented
that from happening. A short time after that, Robin rejected satan and finally
surrendered his whole life to Jesus Christ in 1999.
From that moment a whole new life started for him. A life with Jesus, with Gods
love. But at the same time the battle against immorality was also starting.
Sexual immorality had become an addiction and Robin was addicted to visiting
prostitutes, where he was searching his ‘acceptance’. Many times he tried to
stop with it, felt filthy, and then fell again for exactly the same sin. It went
on and on, even during his engagement with his precious wife, and later in their
marriage. It became his big secret. When Robin’s dad died in 2007, it became
even worse and he fled in an affair with a girl from Church. After four weeks,
he came back to his senses. Realizing what he was doing, he ended the affair and
decided to come out of the secret life and to tell the truth to his wife. It was
at that moment that it became clear what a precious, gracious and forgiving wife
he has. Although this was a huge shock for her, she was able to forgive him the
same night. A process of restoration started in their marriage, but also between
God and Robin. From that moment on the Holy Spirit started to teach him from the
scripture and brought some people on his way that helped him to grow further in
faith and to spiritual maturity. Until this day Robin is still married with his
wife and their marriage is completely restored.
In 2009 he started to organize Holy Ghost Fire Nights. At some of these evening,
he also preached and shared about his past and how he overcame his loneliness,
anger, hate, sadness and depression by learning how to worship in spirit and in
truth and by learning how to develop a strong relationship with God through that
worship. In the last two years God really shook his whole life and even allowed
everything to be taken away from him and his wife. In the last year they lived
without a house, without any income and without any help. Yet God used this time
to educate Robin about love and unity and about how to remain standing when the
storms are going on in our life. God also showed that He is faithful. After more
then a year without having a house, God gave Robin and his wife their own house
again, which they consider as the biggest blessing they had in years and which
they consider as the start of the financial restoration process.
During the conference Robin will share about the need for love and unity in the
body of Christ and about how to remain standing during the storms that will come
in our lives.
